The Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) is a collection of databases that bring you quality information at the click of a mouse. Examples of sources and subjects include magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, academic journals, poetry, literature, health, law, science and stories.
NEW: The Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) now offers Geo-Location authentication to its users. Geo-Location will allow most users to access AVL from home without the need for an AVL username and password.
If you are unable to access the resources or you plan to use AVL from outside Alabama, visit the Wetumpka Public Library to obtain an AVL remote access card. There is no fee charged for this service. AVL resources are provided to all Alabama citizens through funding from their tax dollars.
The AVL is a service to the citizens of Alabama by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, Alabama Public Library Service, Alabama State Department of Education, and the Alabama Supercomputer Authority. The AVL is funded by the Governor and the Alabama Legislature.
