A. The Library is located at 212 S. Main Street. Turn down Ready Street (off of Main Street) as if you are going to the boat landing at Gold Star Park and look for the library entrance to be on the right about halfway down the block.

A. The library is open Mon – Fri 8:00 a.m- 6:00 p.m. and Sat 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Closed Sunday and most major holidays

A. Library memberships are free to anyone who lives or works in Elmore County. Out-of- county memberships are $15 per individual and $25 per family and are good for three years.

To obtain a Wetumpka Library Card you need to bring one picture ID and one other additional item showing your current address. Examples of this second item are printed checks, bills, hunting or fishing licenses, etc. A parent or guardian may get a library card for any child 6 years old or older. A parent or guardian must sign for their child’s library card if the child is under 18 years of age.

Regional cards may also be obtained here and entitle the holder to apply for library memberships at all 8 libraries in the Horseshoe Bend Regional Library System free of charge. The counties covered by this system are Elmore, Coosa, Tallapoosa, and Lee. The same id requirements for the Wetumpka Library card are required to obtain a Regional Card.

A. The library has Preschool Story Hour every Friday morning at 10am throughout the year. It is our philosophy that early introduction to reading and the library makes well-rounded and eager readers. This program also adds social interaction for child and parent.. We are lucky to have a number of great volunteers who take turns reading each week and leading the children in an activity.

Friends of the Wetumpka Library (FOWL), established  in 2001, is a group of individuals, families and businesses that all have  the love of books in common.  Another shared belief is the importance of public library service in our community. A. The Wetumpka Public Library has twelve computers for public use with Internet access. In order to use a computer you must have either a Library Card or a Temporary Internet card. Computer use is free. Printing is $.25 a page black and white and $.50 a page color. Bring in a jump drive for saving your work. The library also offers free WiFi.

Using a computer, with either the Library Card or a Temporary Internet card, indicates that you are familiar with and agree to our Public Access Internet Rules. 

A. You may renew items (that are not on a reserve list) by telephone . The phone number to the library is 567-1308 and is printed on your library card. Please have your patron number handy for quicker service. Items may also be renewed online if they are not overdue. Look for “Search Catalog” on the home page to access our library catalog and follow the directions printed there or phone the library for assistance.
